Coward

Layan lagu Melayu jap.

Penakut (Coward)
(Loose translation)

Not everything falls into your plan
Maybe luck just wasn't on my side
I don't know why it's you that I love
Maybe it's better to let you go

It's not fair, not fair, oh, for him/her
This isn't fair, isn't fair, oh, for me
It's not fair for you to ask
If I love you too
It's not fair, not fair, oh, for him/her

You never tried to understand me
The love you proclaimed, you never show
And the moment I am lost
A burden you never tried to lift

It's not fair, not fair, oh, for him/her
This isn't fair, isn't fair, oh, for me
It's not fair for you to ask
If I love you too
You are not mine

And I am a coward
Admitting my love for you
A thousand times I tried to say it
when I'm with you
You are not mine
And you know it
You are not mine

Palila

So I decided to run off with one of these OC concepts.

I am very well aware that she doesn't look like a full gargoyle at all, but that is very intentional. In the series, I remember that the London clan look more like mythical (or full) animals and have feathery bird-like wings compared to the Wyvern, Japanese and Guatemalan clan (Zafiro being the exception); so I thought, how about angelic statues? So I went ahead and gave her blunt fingers and toes, and extra pair of wings to keep her balance/for the sake of being able to manoeuvre (in the absence of a prehensile tail). This would mean that she isn't really the best flyer (in terms of speed) compared to her half-siblings, but her manoeuvrability is better than the rest of them, and she could fly instead of just gliding. The only clue about her race would be the number of digits on her hands and feet, and the lack of eyebrows and a bellybutton.

In a way, Palila (or Lila for short) is a very special kind of gargress.

Garghh

Still in the mood for gargoyles, I'm afraid. Inspired by Merrypaws' Storm Hawks/Gargoyles crossover. And I even bothered to name them! (L-R: Griff, Raven, Palila, Cardinal)

Steampunk Girls and a Pony

This is an old sketch actually, and I just remembered to post it up :b I was in the mood for steampunk that week, and I have no idea why I decided to stuff the ladies from Storm Hawks into them. Excuse the pony though.

I might just pick one of them and polish it up. We'll see.

A quick redesign of Repton from the Storm Hawks cartoon series.

A Dragon Named Spike

...but not from My Little Pony, sorry. And neither is he a dragon - he's a gargoyle. This hatchling is spawned after Merrypaws' artwork, which I had so much fun in taking it out for a ride and fulfilling one of my indulgences.

Boy, do I miss watching Gargoyles. That series is responsible for my ultimate interest in cartoon production.

Jess

...from Eisu's brilliant webcomic, No Pink Ponies. I suggest you read it :)

Rear View

Sorry I haven't been updating my blog lately - I've been a bit overwhelmed by settling into my new job, sick daughter, and battling against depression... things are getting ironed out one step at a time.

Nominated!

Just some random silly non-official Saladin animated series doodle/fan art. What they are laughing at, I don't really know; Probably a prank they pulled on Duncan (who is either too confused or not amused with the result).

Also, this show is recently nominated for an Emmy award (Children and young people category). Congratulations and well done to the people involved in the project!

*EDIT (17/October/2011)* Article: Saladin to hit global market

Fire In The Sky

I have a little girl; and to keep her occupied, I've been putting on My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. So what first started out as a doodle of an OC pony Lauren Faust-style:
(Made with Adobe Illustrator)

Ended up becoming this:
Mmmmyeah. I need to visit the zoo.

Invader Zim madness

It's no secret that I adore Invader Zim, so here are some mock-comics I made based on some brief ideas:

(The idea I had for this one was 6 years later)

Blame, Page 1:

Blame, Page 2:
I'm sad I can't colour as well as most folks. You know who you are.

While I was busy indulging my crazy fantasy, I also came up with some A/U OCs to put in that universe:
Majara rightfully belongs to my friend, BlackKnightGargie. I had the pleasure of redesigning her.

And another mock-comic featuring my OCs:

That is all for now :) I will apologize in advance, though - I don't think I will ever churn them out to be a full-fledge fan comic. These were all just an exercise for me.

Devastating Stereo

An old sketch (I drew it right after ABDC season 6). I got the costume wrong though :p I love watching these guys perform so much... <3

In The Name Of Science

Another fan art from the Invader Zim universe, and this time it's Professor Membrane (or an older version of Dib, since Jhonen 'implied' that he is a clone of his father)

Throw

Another fan art of my husband's OC. Uhm... yeah... I'm pretty bad at this.

Membrane's Kids

Toothpicks

Nope, he isn't influenced by the new Thundercats TV series. This guy is my husband's original character (way back from 2007; might I add my favourite too out of all his 6). I just thought of giving this fella an updated look. I think I still prefer his first design.

Olumis

The clouded leopard (neofelis diardii) is the biggest feline predator in Borneo. However, it is nowhere as big as a dog. It is rarely ever seen on the ground as it prefers to stay on trees. Thus, their tail is as long as their body for balance, and their canines are 2 inches long so they can get a good grip on their prey as they drag them up into the trees (considering the size of their skull, they are as close to being the modern-day smilodon).

I think I shall name this one Olumis. She is wearing the traditional garb from Tambunan.

Oh, Crom!

I realize I have been drawing way too many girls, so this was an attempt to add more to my palette. Here is his reference picture. I do realize I have borked up his anatomy too...

My Last Shot

My appointment with a different Ob/Gyn this morning:

Doctor: So... are you pregnant again?
Me: Oh, no. I'm just here for my final cervical cancer shot.
Doctor: Oh! You should have told the nurses at the registration earlier so we could've attended to you first.
Me: (have waited quietly for 3 hours) Actually, I did. When I handed over my appointment card.
Doctor: Alright... (looks through folder) How old is your last child now?
Me: 9 months.
Doctor: So how is your family planning like?
Me: Uh... the next child, you mean? I plan on waiting another 3 to 5 years, InsyaAllah.
Doctor: (Shocked) But that's so far away! Wait... how old are you?
Me: (confused) *mumbles disclosed information*
Doctor: (Eases down) Oh, alright then. Okay, (picks up a syringe and looks between two needles) so which one did your previous doctor use, the blue one or the orange one?
Me: It's been a while since my last visit, so... I don't remember.
Doctor: (Picks up the blue one) This one then.
Me: What's the difference?
Doctor: (While screwing the needle onto the syringe) This one is bigger, so it goes down faster. So... the arm or the butt?
Me: (Holding onto whatever's left of my dignity) The arm. Right arm, please. I'm left-handed.
Doctor: Okay! *JAB!* And you're done!

Some roughs and colour study for the boy and tripods for my 4-page story, RUST.

Pink and Frilly

This happens 95% of the time. True story.

Ember

Another version of a young adult female. Their tendrils grow longer as they age, and the hard plates will grow over them too. It takes three years for another plate (on the longest tendril) to appear and push the older one out into place. The crest on their head takes longer. However, the tendrils and plating stop growing altogether once they reach adulthood.

Painted in PT Sai, texture is from ro-stock.
