DigiCon6 and IPCC Super Pitch 2012
Ladies and gentlemen,
As one of the storyboard artists and assistant directors of Giggle Garage, I would like to thank everyone who had voted for ORIGANIMALS... because it had snagged FIRST PLACE of DigiCon6 (We now have the chance to compete with other entries from all over Asia in Japan)!
ALSO,
Congratulations to Glue Studios - their IP, RIMBA RACER, ties on first place with the beautiful Sunsastera for the IPCC Super Pitch this year (which is a first time for such an event)! I had the pleasure of working alongside the wonderful talents involved in this project as the character designer and storyboard artist during the early stage of the project :) Do feast your eyes on their full sizzle trailer here.

The Wild One and The Cruel Stormy Spice
Still in the mood for TMNT:
Based his design on the upcoming Nickelodeon 2012 series. I did not make up the kusarigama, but he still keeps his infamous nunchaku.
Still entertaining the thought of ageing down Karai to April's age in the series, since I thought she would make an interesting rival for our favourite redhead in high school (I doubt that might happen though):
My take on her casual outfit - that is when she's not running Foot errands or attacking heroes in a half shell.
Based this one on Dan-Duncan's IDW Karai design.

Commission - Rogue and Gambit
I had an amazing series of smudged inks and spilled marker spatters while working on this piece. After several ruined cards, I have to say this one is the most successful :)
Ink and Copic Ciao! colour markers on 2.5" x 3.5" sketch card.

The Brainy One
As a kid growing up in the 80's, it's only natural that TMNT will always be part of my childhood favourites. So when I've recently watched some SDCC 2012 trailers and clips for the upcoming TMNT animated series, I was immediately taken to the design and snappy 2D-esque animation style (although, it could have done without the influence of anime expressions IMHO). I also suspect the story writing might be tamer (in comparison to the 2003 series) to cater to the younger audience, but I'm geeking out anyway.
In whatever reincarnation, Donatello has always been my favourite. I got really nostalgic when they brought back Rob Paulsen to voice the brainy mutant terrapin (fun fact: he voiced Raphael in the 1987 TMNT series). I thought he suits Don quite well! So have some younger-looking Donny and an insert of Leo:
When it comes to range and power, I'll have you know he's my favourite selection in whichever TMNT games too.
A younger Karai, perhaps? I was taken to her role in the 2003 series, and I admit the 2007 movie design is hot.
Some random sketch.
