Some quick, random designs of humanoid reptiles.

I imagined they are more desert-based, hence the warm colour tones. However, they should be excellent climbers and swimmers too (this explains their bulky upper body and tail for balance). Their lanky physique is meant for speed since they need to be quick in catching their meal or avoid being one.

Palila

So I decided to run off with one of these OC concepts.

I am very well aware that she doesn't look like a full gargoyle at all, but that is very intentional. In the series, I remember that the London clan look more like mythical (or full) animals and have feathery bird-like wings compared to the Wyvern, Japanese and Guatemalan clan (Zafiro being the exception); so I thought, how about angelic statues? So I went ahead and gave her blunt fingers and toes, and extra pair of wings to keep her balance/for the sake of being able to manoeuvre (in the absence of a prehensile tail). This would mean that she isn't really the best flyer (in terms of speed) compared to her half-siblings, but her manoeuvrability is better than the rest of them, and she could fly instead of just gliding. The only clue about her race would be the number of digits on her hands and feet, and the lack of eyebrows and a bellybutton.

In a way, Palila (or Lila for short) is a very special kind of gargress.

Still in the mood for gargoyles, I'm afraid. Inspired by Merrypaws' Storm Hawks/Gargoyles crossover. And I even bothered to name them! (L-R: Griff, Raven, Palila, Cardinal)

A Dragon Named Spike

...but not from My Little Pony, sorry. And neither is he a dragon - he's a gargoyle. This hatchling is spawned after Merrypaws' artwork, which I had so much fun in taking it out for a ride and fulfilling one of my indulgences.

Boy, do I miss watching Gargoyles. That series is responsible for my ultimate interest in cartoon production.

Fire In The Sky

I have a little girl; and to keep her occupied, I've been putting on My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. So what first started out as a doodle of an OC pony Lauren Faust-style:

Invader Zim madness

Toothpicks

Nope, he isn't influenced by the new Thundercats TV series. This guy is my husband's original character (way back from 2007; might I add my favourite too out of all his 6). I just thought of giving this fella an updated look. I think I still prefer his first design.

Olumis

The clouded leopard (neofelis diardii) is the biggest feline predator in Borneo. However, it is nowhere as big as a dog. It is rarely ever seen on the ground as it prefers to stay on trees. Thus, their tail is as long as their body for balance, and their canines are 2 inches long so they can get a good grip on their prey as they drag them up into the trees (considering the size of their skull, they are as close to being the modern-day smilodon).

I think I shall name this one Olumis. She is wearing the traditional garb from Tambunan.

Crest

Husband introduced me to Sculptris, so I'm just trying my hands on it. Based on some of my male sea dragon design, Big Blue and Fire.

Curly Wurly

Another variation to the sea dragon series, and this time based on the seahorse and lionfish.

While they are the slowest and among the smallest of their species, they make it up by their arsenal of venomous sting to ward off predators and attackers.

A closer look at the guppy's head. Like sharks, their teeth would protrude outwards when they pull their lips back.

For those who don't know, 'kasturi' means lime.

After days (or weeks?) of putting it off, I've finally purchased the official license for Paint Tool Sai! Yay! Hopefully this will encourage me to utilize it more after being deprived of it.

Anyway, here is another character for The Fisherman's Son project. Her design is based on traditional Malay, and she is quite adept with the art of Silat Gayung. Naturally disciplined, she is also terribly a no-nonsense humourless warrior. However, she still enjoys feminine pleasures like painting her fingertips with henna and she absolutely enjoys long baths.
